The band’s conviction is that there is no deeper music than Delta-inspired blues to express what lies in everyone’s soul. They have received world-wide critical acclaim\, including from Living Blues Magazine: “MISSISSIPPI HEAT delivers its traditional urban blues with a freshness\, energy and competence that makes them a treasure on today’s Chicago scene.” \nMississippi Heat is known internationally for their passionate blues delivery. A presentation will be given by both the U.S. and Michigan Chambers of Commerce. Attendees will hear from Ryan Gleason\, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber’s Great Lakes Regional Office and Mike Alaimo\, Senior Director of Legislative and External Affairs at the Michigan Chamber. \nGleason will present a federal update from the U.S. Chamber focusing on what has happened on Capitol Hill in Washington DC this year\, the Chamber’s priorities\, trade policy related to Michigan\, and a political update going into the 2026 midterm elections. Alaimo will speak on the budget\, which will have a focus on the decoupling tax structure and road funding. He will also share an update from the first half of the year for major issues in divided government\, including ESTA and minimum wage\, road funding rhetoric\, permitting reform\, carbon capture and energy re-write. \nSpecial thanks to the event sponsors Oaklawn Hospital\, KCCU.
