DESCRIPTION:People receiving SSI/SSDI Benefits from Social Security often believe they will lose these vital sources of income if they are employed. However\, with the right planning and resources\, individuals can make informed decisions that allow them to reach greater financial stability than receiving benefits alone. This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of how a service called Benefits Planning can help individuals transition back to work successfully. \nWe’ll discuss what is provided in Benefits Planning services and why these services are crucial for long-term financial stability. Additionally\, we’ll explore the various Social Security Disability work incentives (special Social Security rules that support a beneficiary in a successful return to work)\, including how and when they apply while employed. \nBy the end of this session\, attendees will have a clearer understanding of how to balance employment goals with Social Security Disability benefits and access the support they need for a smooth transition back to work. \nThis session will be offered at the following time: \n\nTuesday\, June 16\, 2026\, 6:30 to 8:00 PM — Click here to register\n\nParticipation in this event is available through an internet connection. DESCRIPTION:Our Mobile Market Program was created in an effort to bring healthy foods directly into low-resource communities\, eliminating travel burdens and barriers\, and improving access to essential food items. \nThis initiative acts as a “pantry on wheels”\, offering a selection of meal kits of nutrient-rich pantry staples\, accompanied by simple\, easy-to-follow recipes. In addition\, neighbors can select protein and dairy products\, fresh fruits\, and vegetables to take home with them as well. \nMobile Markets are tailored to serve rural areas\, senior assisted living facilities\, low-income housing communities\, transportation-limited neighborhoods\, and school programs. Our goal is to close food access gaps\, provide nourishment to families\, promote nutrition education\, and strengthen our community by addressing food insecurity. \nA sponsorship of a Mobile Market Program allows South Michigan Food Bank the opportunity to expand to more locations\, enhance our food options\, and support our neighbors facing food insecurity. Your support will bring nutritious foods right to communities that need it most\, ensuring that more of our neighbors have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.
