DESCRIPTION:Hear updates from the U.S. and Michigan Chambers. Choose Marshall and Greater Albion Chambers Co-host Legislative Forum \nChoose Marshall and the Greater Albion Chambers of Commerce invite the public to attend an upcoming Legislative Forum on Wednesday\, November 19\, 2025\, at The Franke Center for the Arts in downtown Marshall. \nThis Legislative Forum is an opportunity for both communities to come together to hear what is in the cards that may affect Michigan citizens\, businesses\, and employees. A presentation will be given by both the U.S. and Michigan Chambers of Commerce. Attendees will hear from Ryan Gleason\, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber’s Great Lakes Regional Office and Mike Alaimo\, Senior Director of Legislative and External Affairs at the Michigan Chamber. \nGleason will present a federal update from the U.S. Chamber focusing on what has happened on Capitol Hill in Washington DC this year\, the Chamber’s priorities\, trade policy related to Michigan\, and a political update going into the 2026 midterm elections. Alaimo will speak on the budget\, which will have a focus on the decoupling tax structure and road funding. He will also share an update from the first half of the year for major issues in divided government\, including ESTA and minimum wage\, road funding rhetoric\, permitting reform\, carbon capture and energy re-write. \nSpecial thanks to the event sponsors Oaklawn Hospital\, KCCU. VantagePointe Financial Group and Highpoint Community Bank\, MCCU and Shafer-Redi Mix. \nThe forum will be held at The Franke Center for the Arts located at 214 East Mansion Street\, in Marshall on Wednesday\, November 19 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm (doors open at 11:30am). DESCRIPTION:Come on out to hear the great talent we have here in Southwest Michigan. Open Mic is offered EVERY WEDNESDAY from 6:30 to 9 PM on the Box Factory stage\, with the 2nd Wednesday given to local singer/songwriters performing original works. All performers—including musicians\, singers\, poets\, writers\, and storytellers—are welcome to participate with sound equipment provided. \nThose wishing to perform at Open Mic should sign up in person. Audience members are asked to pay $5 at the door; no charge for children under 12. Performers will not be charged a fee. \nNOTE: OPEN MIC WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS DUE TO HOLIDAYS: 11/27\, 12/25 and 1/1 \n\n\nAdmission: $5
